Yuri Valentinovich Smolyanov was born in 1952 in the city of Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo). He began writing poetry while still a cadet at the naval school. As fate would have it, all subsequent years were associated with journalism and literary activity. Poetry became a natural point of application for his creative powers. This is evidenced by his next collection. The author admits: “My poems are like children. And having left my canvas, they come to you, abandoning their affairs. Read boldly and openly everything that I have experienced...” Yuri Smolyanov is a member of the Russian Union of Writers and the Union of Journalists of Russia.
