This book is the third part of a trilogy; the first two books - “Daughter of Fire” and “The Twelve Gates of Bukhara” - were published in “Soviet Writer” and became widely known. The novel takes place in 1921 in the young Bukhara Republic, torn apart by a brutal class struggle. The emir, the Turkish commander Enver Pasha, who fled to Afghanistan, is against the revolution, against Soviet power; Internal enemies are also becoming more active: Basmachi, nationalists. In sharp collisions, the author reveals the characters of the heroes - Aso, Firuza and others, familiar to the reader from the first two books.
