Boris Messerer (b. 1933) is a painter, graphic artist and set designer, author of the memoir book “Bella’s Flash.” The legendary ballet family of the Messerers and Plisetskys, work with the best theater directors, twenty personal exhibitions and, of course, a friendly environment - it’s not for nothing that the artist called the king of bohemia. He always considered his main success in life to be the opportunity to engage in pure painting. In the book “Life Passes into Memory,” Boris Asafovich writes about great teachers: A. Fonvizin, A. Tyshler, V. Elkonin; closest comrades and colleagues: L. Zbarsky, Yu. Krasny, S. Barkhin, V. Leventhal, E. Kochergina, S. Alimov and many others. He talks about his vision of their art and recalls warm meetings. From this mosaic a portrait of the era is gradually emerging. “I am talking about those wonderful artists who lived and worked before my eyes, who made a strong impression on me and influenced my development. Thus, memories of friends formed into a creative autobiography.”
