The book by the famous German historian and caricaturist Eduard Fuchs entitled “An Illustrated History of Morals” was published at the very beginning of the 20th century. and immediately attracted the attention of readers. The author did not examine in it the entire area of morals, but only a part of it - sexual morality, in the views on which the general culture of the century is most clearly reflected. He described the morals and sexual morality of people of three eras - the Renaissance, absolutism and the bourgeois age.
