At the beginning of the 20th century, the German researcher and writer Eduard Fuchs 1870–1940 created a work on the history of European morals, covering three periods: the Renaissance (Renaissance), the gallant age and the bourgeois age. The Renaissance turned out to be unusually prolific not only for artists and poets and fearless pioneers. It was at this time that Europeans broke with the pale ascetic weakness of the Middle Ages, realized the naturalness of their desires and gave free rein to their carnal instincts that had been tamed for so long.
