The heroine of the novel, Natalie, gets a job as a saleswoman in a store during the holidays. Communication with his owner, Francesca, and acquaintance with the world of glamor and cinema make her think about her own principles and delusions. A girl's first love turns into a disaster - but it is overshadowed by even more unexpected events. In the finale, the matured Natalie fondly remembers that summer and talks about the incomprehensible nature of love.
