Martin leaves England to earn a serene life with his beloved Poppy Day, but goes missing. Little Poppy hopes for the best to the last, but one day she hears a terrible rumor - Martin has been kidnapped, and his life could end at any moment. Then she decides to take a crazy, desperate act. Dressed in oriental attire, Poppy goes to distant, mysterious Afghanistan, posing as a famous journalist. Suddenly, the grown-up Poppy finds herself without any protection in the very heart of an unfriendly country, among the mountains and villages, in the company of the desperate journalist Miles Varrasso and one of the local thugs, Zelgai Mahmud. And now she can only hope for the favor of fate in order not only to find Martin, but also to return home alive.
