The book, dedicated to the fathers of Russian monasticism, St. Anthony and Theodosius of Pechersk, presents their lives, as well as some of the teachings of St. Theodosius. The prayer section includes an akathist and prayers to the saints. The collection also contains a detailed story about the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, founded by the monks, its temples and caves. The appendices present a number of studies on the life and work of the saints, as well as excerpts from The Tale of Bygone Years, created in the Kiev Caves Monastery. The book is intended for a wide range of Orthodox readers.
