The publishing house "Folio", publishing "Little Russian Prose" by Grigory Kvitka-Osnovyanenko (1778–1843), simultaneously publishes L. G. Frizman's book "The Witty Osnovyanenko", which examines the life and work of the remarkable Ukrainian writer, playwright, historian of Ukraine, Kharkov from the perspective of today. This is all the more valuable because the last monograph on Kvitka, written by S. D. Zubkov, appeared more than 35 years ago. Pursuing the goal of reviving attention to the heritage of the founder of Ukrainian prose, collecting material for a book about him, literary scholar and writer Leonid Frizman discovered in the collections of the Institute of Literature. T. G. Shevchenko NAS of Ukraine, where the archive of Kvitka is stored, the third book of Little Russian stories he prepared for printing, but not published during his lifetime. Now everyone can get acquainted with these works in the collection of the publishing house “Folio” “Little Russian Prose” and read about them in the brilliantly written book by Leonid Frizman.
