The main character of the novel by modern Italian writer Paola Capriolo ends up in a psychiatric clinic. The young man does not speak, does not write, and the doctors are unable to find out who he is and where he is from. Then they give him a piece of paper, and the young man draws a piano. He is brought to the piano, on which he begins to masterfully play works by various composers. Music has a strong effect on patients, revealing the hidden sides of their shattered inner world. For patients, music is suffering, joy, memory of the past, testing, painful exposure of the soul; life and death are intertwined in sounds. So why did this strange mute pianist, endowed with insensibility and heightened sensitivity, enter into the fate of the characters? Who is he? Is his game good or bad?
