The next volume, published as part of a large-scale project dedicated to the history of Russian and world culture, tells about Hellas, the birthplace of European civilization. The author vividly and fascinatingly traces the history of the amazing Hellenic culture, at once refined and courageous, wise and cheerful, from its very origins, from the stories of gods and heroes, from the tales of the Trojan War to the classical period, when art and science received brilliant development, philosophy and literature, until the era of Alexander the Great, which spread Hellenic traditions far beyond the borders of Greece. Particular attention is paid to the heritage of Hellenic civilization in Russia: after all, it is simply impossible to truly understand the ancient Russian spiritual culture otherwise.
