The publication offered to the reader contains translations into Russian of sources on the history of Christianity in Spain in the 1st millennium. For the first time in Russian, many invaluable evidence of life on the Iberian Peninsula in the 4th–10th centuries is presented: “The Spanish Passionary” (lives of the Spanish martyrs), “The Lives of the Merida Fathers”, “On Famous Men” by Isidore of Seville, “On Famous Men” by Ildefonso of Toledo , ascetic writings by authors of the 6th–9th centuries, several ancient chronicles, poetic texts by Christian authors, liturgical texts dating back to the 7th century. For the first time, the Spanish-Mozarabic calendar is published in Russian, reflecting the liturgical veneration of the ancient Spanish saints.
