Every person at least once in his life has wished to forget THIS. An unpleasant episode, an insult, a bad person, an unseemly act and much, much more. So that the bottom line would be like the hero of the famous film comedy: “here I remember, but here I don’t remember”... Here is Elena Sazanovich’s novel “Everything is Hockey!”, the magazine version of which was published in a recent issue of the literary almanac “Feat”, dedicated not only to hockey. Or rather, not so much hockey, but some features of the worldview that stimulate the desire/ability to forget everything unpleasant. This is exactly how the main character (and anti-hero at the same time) Talik lives - a successful and even talented hockey player who has everything and lives like a god. Or as a demigod, which is practically the same thing. He goes through life playfully, without making mistakes in his understanding of this life. And even if he does, he does not repent at all because of such “trifles”: “I am not for the world, but the world is for me.” His mother taught him a similar worldly philosophy since childhood: “Pity... pulls you back. Man is more perfect than plants and animals. And therefore he should not pay attention to them, so as not to become like them. But if a person wants to become great, he should not pay attention to people either.” Therefore, from childhood, his mother not only taught him an indifferent mind, but also protected him in every possible way from adversity and trouble. The ending, as in all the works of Elena Sazanovich, is unexpected and swift. And also traditionally for the author, the novel is written with subtle, impressionistic drawings of details on an expressive Bruegelian background, where psychologism coexists with detective mysteries, and the characters constantly change places, characters, and actions.
