Hans Ulrich Obrist (1968, Weinfelden, Switzerland) is a curator, critic, art historian, director of the Serpentine Gallery in London, and presenter of the special Migrateurs program at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. In 2009, Art Review magazine named Obrist the most influential person in the art world. In his book A Brief History of Curating, Hans Ulrich Obrist, through a series of interviews with leading curators and museum directors from Europe and the United States, formulates an original view of the history of modern art of the last sixty years as a revolution, the origin of which was unprecedented types of exhibition and museum practice, giving rise to a fundamentally new context both for the art itself and for its perception by viewers.
