From the very first lines, this work made me forget about all urgent matters, my consciousness receded, and I plunged into the “wonderful world of mirrors,” as Dmitry himself calls it. And, to be honest, I still haven’t gotten out of it, although more than three months have passed since I read it. The poem is based on “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” by A. S. Pushkin, but for me, after reading Dmitry’s poem, the greedy old woman no longer exists, everything has become much more complicated. It was not the old man who caught the goldfish, it was she who caught him. The mirrors here are waves, wind, seagulls, rocks, sun, etc. All of them are allies of a mysterious sea force that played with a man and left him with nothing. A very deep psychological work with a stunning description of nature. But Dmitry doesn’t have it any other way. For him, poetry is prayer. I hope you enjoy your reading and take care. Goldfish can be dangerous for people with unstable psyches. Alexander Novgorodtsev
