The fifteenth century in Europe was bubbling like a hellish cauldron. The Hundred Years' War between France and England was still going on, civil unrest tormented the Pyrenean kingdoms, the Hussite wars ravaged the Czech Republic, dynasties changed and intrigues were woven in the states of northern Italy, the entire Western world was agitated by a great schism... It was at this time that another bloody civil strife broke out in England - War of the Scarlet and White Roses. Two powerful houses - Lancaster and York - led it, regardless of any losses. In the Lancastrian coat of arms the Scarlet Rose blazed, in the York coat of arms - the regal White Rose.
