The authors wanted to continue the story; a second book of the novel was planned, but the death of the writer Gennady Sazonov (1934–1988) interrupted the work begun. However, the novel is being republished (first edition: Sverdlovsk, 1982) in expanded form - a new chapter has appeared, a number of episodes have been clarified.
