In the 20s of the 20th century, many remarkable personalities lived on the shores of the Bay of Naples. Among the revolutionaries, artists and searchers for the meaning of life are four philosophers at a turning point in their intellectual biography: Benjamin, Adorno, Kracauer and Sohn-Rethel. Theodor W. Adorno, the youngest of them, took advantage of Naples in the most unusual way: under the impression of the city, he created a theory built around a catastrophe, about which the surrounding fertile land still knows nothing. In his book, Martin Mittelmeier (b. 1971) proposes a completely take a fresh look at the famous philosopher, whose cult status of theories often hides their true meaning. The author takes the reader back to the roots of Adorno's philosophy, which often seems hermetic and strict. These origins are in the colorful Mediterranean life, in soft tuff, in the sound of the surf on the shores once inhabited by sirens, in the gloomy, prehistoric Positano and in the terrifying sea reptiles from the famous Neapolitan aquarium. The publishing layout is saved in a4.pdf format.
