The story is written according to the memoirs of the author, who served in the Ryazan Parachute Regiment as a junior doctor at a medical station from 1956 to 1962. A picture of army life at that time is presented, evidence of the collectivism and courage of the paratroopers, the competent and proactive work of regimental doctors who absorbed the front-line experience of their senior comrades is given. The story, in the form of stories, contains numerous clinical observations of the author, which are of independent interest. The story is written as a continuation of the author’s already published memoirs, such as “Boys of the War”, “After the War (School)” and “My Academy”, covering the period from 1940 to 1956. In general, a historical panorama of military childhood, post-war school youth and the beginning of the professional life of a Soviet military doctor emerges. The story is intended for military doctors, primarily doctors of the Airborne Forces, for senior students of the Military Medical Academy named after. S.M. Kirov, for hospital doctors, for parachute service officers, for historians of military medicine.
