Frédéric Soulier (1800-1848) is a popular French prose writer, poet and playwright, one of the founders of the genre of the feuilleton novel. He was the first on the path of mass fiction in the 19th century. (formerly A. Dumas and E. Xu) achieved exceptional pan-European success. Contemporaries sometimes ranked this author higher than O. de Balzac. Memoirs of a Devil is Soulier's best work. It absorbed the experience of “Gothic” literature, historical and social novel.
