This book provides a working model that explains the origin and meaning of life, and also predicts the future course of human evolution. Our "fantastic" theory is based on the fact that the life cycle of the species known as "Homo sapiens" consists of eight phases. The awareness that at this stage of its development humanity is in the fourth phase of evolution gives us pleasure and enhances our sense of freedom... The goal of evolution - the Higher Mind - is achieved by the consistent development of the nervous system and an increase in the ability to perceive, integrate and transmit an ever wider range of signals in unit of time. Each new circuit of the nervous system that "turns on" at certain stages of evolution teaches us something new. This is the meaning of the ancient Sufi parable in which Mulla Nasrudin, a sage who invariably pretends to be a clown, rides through the city on a donkey. "Where “Are you in such a hurry, Nasreddin?” his neighbors ask him. “I’m looking for my donkey!” - he answers. At a certain stage of development, everyone understands this joke-within-a-joke differently. From our point of view, the donkey here represents "magical technique", "secret knowledge", "alchemical Elixir" or the great "philosopher's stone" that brings wisdom to the adept. We look for it everywhere, moving on it. This is our nervous system.
