Mikhail Alekseevich Kuzmin (1872–1936) - Silver Age poet, prose writer, translator, composer. To this day, there are many legends about his life and work, and the most important of them is the opinion of him as a supporter of “beautiful clarity,” a preacher of “the free ease of thoughtless living,” and the author of frivolous stylized poems and stories. But upon careful reading, this lightness turns into deep tragedy, painful experiences end in farce, low and even “dirty” life determines fate - and it is extremely difficult to understand how this happens. Like almost all Russian intellectuals, Kuzmin welcomed the revolution, but later his reluctance and inability to adapt led him to almost complete isolation in the literary life of the late twenties and all of the thirties of the 20th century, but he did not even allow the thought of emigration. The authors talk about the life, work, and tragic fate of the poet, with scientific scrupulousness exploring his creative heritage, the significance of which is undeniable, and with great human tact, telling about the private life of a complex, contradictory person. sign of information products 16+
