The village of Antara is ruled by the always tipsy Wise One, who is haunted by a teenage boy with golden hair. It is not known who his parents are; everyone is convinced that the sun gave birth to him. Sooner or later, it is he, Irwin, who will become the ruler of Antara, in order to get rid of the boy, the Wise sends him to the unknown country of Shandola, where he must learn everything that a real ruler should know and be able to do. Together with his inseparable friend, the mongrel dog Pilate, Irwin sets off on a journey. Soon they meet a cute pink creature, similar to a bear cub, walking on its hind legs - this is Srout, intelligent, serious, terribly offended if he is called an “little animal”. A hurricane brought him to these parts, and he doesn’t know how to return home. Irwin suggests they all go to Shandola together and, without much hesitation, Srout agrees. He gives Pilate a piece soaked in some mysterious potion, and the dog gains the power of speech. But as soon as he spoke, Irwin realized what a mistake Srout had made! The dog turned out to be quarrelsome, quarrelsome, and at times unbearably boring. But there is nothing to be done - the process is irreversible! Along the way they find themselves in incredible adventures and make new friends - this is the dragon Morro-Foilin, and Captain Drot, and a whole team of ghosts...
