The novel “The Man from the Web” tells about strange events. His heroes, too, are for the most part not of this world. A shaman living on a tree in some metaphysical Siberia, a spider in human form who hates bipeds and weaves a conspiracy against them, hunters for human bile plying their knacker trade in St. Petersburg, Chinese mafiosi supplying them with victims. This entire clownish round dance revolves around the figure of the main character of the work, a publishing worker, who, by the will of circumstances, is immersed in the abyss of passions.
