"Srimad-Bhagavatam", an epic, philosophical and literary work of Indian classics, occupies a special place among other works that make up the multi-volume heritage of ancient Indian wisdom. This eternal wisdom of India is contained in the Vedas - ancient Sanskrit texts covering all areas of human knowledge. Initially, there was an oral tradition of transmitting these works. They were later written down by Srila Vyasadeva, the "literary incarnation of God." When Yrila Vyasadeva completed the compilation of the Vedas, his spiritual master encouraged him to continue his work by presenting the essence of the Vedas in the form of Srimad-Bhagavatam. Known as the "ripe fruit of the tree of Vedic literature", Srimad-Bhagavatam is the most complete and authoritative exposition of Vedic knowledge. With a brief biography of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the ideal preacher of Bhagavata-dharma, and with the original Sanskrit texts, transliteration in Cyrillic, word-by-word translation, literary translation and commentary.
