This is the final part of the trilogy, which began with the books “Tank Sword of the Land of the Soviets” and “Air Shield of the Land of the Soviets”. It represents a sharp critical analysis of the policy of the party and political leadership of the USSR in the field of the arms race for the sake of establishing a communist dictatorship throughout the world.
The second half of the 20th century was a time of unprecedented growth in the naval power of the Soviet Union. Surface and submarine ships of this state, traditionally considered a “land” state, appeared in the vastness of the World Ocean, demonstrating the claims of the Kremlin leadership to have maritime dominance. In terms of a number of quantitative indicators (for example, the number of submarines and missile boats), the Soviet fleet surpassed the rest of the world, but ultimately found itself at a dead end.
Like the entire history of the USSR from 1917 to 1991, the true picture construction of the Soviet fleet is hidden in the fog of numerous legends and myths, camouflaged by all sorts of “inaccuracies” and outright lies. The proposed work is an attempt to objectively consider this picture. It is based on published testimonies of direct participants in the events described.
The book is of significant interest to a wide range of readers.
