The literary phenomenon “the ironic detective story of Joanna Khmelevskaya”, which knows no precedent, is presented in “The Endless Gang” with an eternally attractive theme - the search for hidden treasures. Treasures that are not mythical, not fictitious, but the most real. We are talking about the wealth looted by the German invaders during the Second World War on the territory of Russia and Poland. Many years after the end of the war, gangs of criminals go to great lengths to take possession of the treasures. They are opposed by honest people all over the world. Of course, the intelligent and energetic heroine of the novel is among them. One of Khmelevskaya’s best detective stories of recent years, the novel “Coincidence of Circumstances” has the freshness of the author’s first works and the mature merits of the latter - an intriguing, dynamic plot, subtle psychologism of images and inexhaustible reserves of sparkling humor. But there is something that sets “Coincidence of Circumstances” apart from all other detective stories by Khmelevskaya: the author’s “I” of the writer. Her constant heroine appears here in two guises: Ioanna Khmelevskaya's mother-in-law and Ioanna Khmelevskaya's daughter-in-law, which further complicates the already confusing plot. Both novels are published in Russian for the first time.
