“Blue Smoke” is the most complete collection of works by the famous poet of the Russian Abroad Yuri Sofiev (1899–1975), who returned to his homeland in 1955 and lived in Alma-Ata. The book includes poems from his lifetime collection “Years and Stones” (Paris, 1936) and posthumous - “Sail” (Almaty, 2003), and also includes poems from handwritten notebooks, notebooks and diaries of the poet. The book concludes with the memoirs “Scattered Pages” - about emigrant wanderings, about meetings with outstanding people of that time. Note: the author of the electronic version of the book is infinitely grateful to Nadezhda Mikhailovna Chernova - the keeper of the Sofiev-Knorring archives, the compiler and publisher of their books, and the author of works about these of course the most interesting poets of the Russian emigration - for that gigantic, long-term work for the benefit of Russian Literature and preserving the memory of the culture of the Russian Abroad and for the invaluable opportunity to get acquainted with these rare publications.
