Behavior that is not accepted by society or the law exists in any society. Problems of drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other harmful passions are part of popular culture and the subject of scientific study. The book is dedicated to asocial and non-traditional forms of free time for residents of Petrograd and Leningrad in the 1920s. This period was not chosen by chance. The Civil War, the “Red” and “White” terrors, famine and typhus epidemics, which led to the death of millions of people, were replaced in March 1921 by a new economic policy - NEP, which significantly influenced culture... The book is filled with texts of that time, in order to more fully convey the “spirit of the era”, to allow the reader to “hear” the voices of contemporaries of the events described. The authors were attracted not so much by the fight against certain social vices, but by the nature of their distribution in the leisure sphere, the motivation of consumers of various types of deviant leisure and the infrastructure of its supply.
