On Her Majesty's Secret Service. James Bond's hunt for Blofeld continues, but unfortunately does not bring results. Attempts to convince M that he is being used ineffectively and that it is better to do something else are also unsuccessful. 007 is again considering his retirement. Everything changes by an almost accidental acquaintance with Teresa di Vicenzo, whom Bond saves from suicide. Her father Marc-Ange Draco, head of the Corsican Union, is ready to help find Blofeld, but to do this, Bond must restore his daughter's zest for life. 007 decides to take a risk and “catch two birds with one stone” - to deal with Blofeld and finally arrange his personal life, connecting it with the charming Tracy. But if you chase two birds with one stone at once, you may not catch a single one... You only live twice. After Tracy's death, agent 007 is deeply depressed and fails one task after another. M is extremely unhappy with this and is preparing to fire Bond. But at the last moment, after consulting with experts, he changes his decision. Bond is given a “non-core” task - to establish partnerships with Japanese intelligence, which has achieved great success in intercepting and deciphering secret Soviet data. This is not so easy to do, since Japan is considered a sphere of influence of the United States, and the CIA, if it finds out about these contacts, will be very unhappy, and the Japanese themselves are in no hurry to rush into the arms of the British. And yet Bond manages to establish a trusting relationship with Japanese intelligence chief Tiger Tanaka, and he is ready to share information with MI6, but in exchange for something adequate. But it just so happens that the most adequate thing that the British could offer is... James Bond himself, or rather his unique abilities. The price of cooperation is to eliminate the mysterious European from Switzerland, who built a so-called “death park” on Japanese territory, consisting of poisonous plants, where half a thousand Japanese have already died in just a few months. The law is powerless here, but the task is within the power of agent 007. The Man with the Golden Gun. The action takes place a year after the events described in “You Only Live Twice,” where James Bond dealt with Blofeld. 007, whom everyone considers dead in the Far East, suddenly appears in London and demands an urgent meeting with M for a report. The Secret Service suspects some kind of trick, but at the insistence of M himself, the meeting still takes place. In the chief's office, Bond makes an attempt on M's life, but everything ends well for both M and 007. Bond, who was brainwashed in the Soviet Union, is sent to the hospital to recover. However, in order to finally rehabilitate himself, he will need to destroy the assassin Francisco Scaramanga. Many in the Secret Service believe that this task is impossible...
