In the anatomical museum at St. Benjamin's Medical School in London, the mutilated body of a young girl (as it soon turns out, one of the students) was discovered, artistically suspended from the domed ceiling of the hall. The hasty actions of the police lead to the arrest of an innocent man, who commits suicide in a prison cell. Meanwhile, facts not noticed by the official investigation lead pathologist John Eisenmenger, lawyer Elena Fleming and former police officer Bob Johnson, who undertook their own independent investigation of the case, to a different circle of suspects, including fellow students and teachers of the deceased, as well as the museum curator. Each of them hides from others something directly or indirectly related to the murder; almost everyone had the motive and opportunity to commit it. The dark recesses of human souls, the ambiguous behavior of police officers, corruption, blackmail and betrayal, blind jealousy and criminal perversity form the action-packed outline of the novel by the English writer Keith McCarthy “A Feast of Flesh”, which will be followed by “The Quiet Sleep of Dying”, “Final Analysis” and “The World, full of tears."
