A classic of English-language science fiction literature, Philip K. Dick (1928–1982) wrote thirty-one novels and a great many short stories. The basis of the worlds he constructed is not the usual thesis “What if?..”, but a fundamentally different one: “God, what if?...” American science fiction writer Jerry Pournelle, who participated in the development of US space programs from 1956 to 1968, also considers in his “alternative worlds” not just the possibility of something, but precisely a “crazy possibility.” Such a significant circumstance united the works of two popular authors under the cover of this book.
