This is not a historical novel, much less a reconstruction of events. It can be called a novel of a special type, similar in form to a classic one. Here the form is only a means for the maximum embodiment of the idea. Although there are many characters in it, none of them is the main one. For the central character of the story is Power, manifested in three forms: a retired Russian president, the current head of state and a Mongol ruler from the distant 13th century. The crosshairs of times create the impression of volume. And we can feel the breath of limitless Power that can distort a person. Are people sand? Grass? Or trees? The authorities always try to answer the question, the answer to which is available only to God.
