The collection of Altai folk tales “Red Dog” includes seven tales representing a wide palette of Altai folk art, including tales about animals, satirical, magical, philosophical, and epic tales. Translation and literary adaptation by writer Irina Bogatyreva. Illustrations made by artist Olga Ionaitis help to recreate in the book the spirit of the unique Altai culture and demonstrate the peculiarities of the economy and life of the peoples of Altai. Maps on the endpapers of the book by artists Dmitry Makhashvili and Yulia Panipartova will introduce readers to the Great Silk Road and the part of it that passed through the territory of modern Altai. The book is intended for family reading.
