The novel “The Witch” belongs to the genre of historical-Slavic fantasy. The action of the novel takes place in the 10th century, during the reign of Prince Igor. The young Varangian mayor Sveneld (historical figure) arrives from the capital Kyiv to the Drevlyans to collect the due tribute. However, this time he is given a special task: to visit places of worship of the gods - local temples, which the tribe hides in the deep thickets. Magnificent intrigue, living fairy-tale and mythical characters of Ancient Rus', who lived among people before Rus' adopted Christianity and sorcery was dispelled .
