The “case” that I want to talk about is not over yet, and there is no “case” in the legal sense. That is, neither the prosecutor’s office nor the investigative bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have a folder with the word large written: “Case” - number such and such. This is not surprising: not every death is subject to a criminal case or investigation. The causes of death seem so obvious, they are so abundant and everyday, that the authorities and people accept death as inevitable, for granted. The proverb states that “death is not just around the corner, but behind you,” and the words “Remember death” are eternally relevant. But how many people remember? This is a folder, only without a number, since it’s the only one I have. Although, according to the strict laws of forensic science, several independent “cases” should be “selected” from it: “The case of the psychic so-and-so...”, “The case of the search for holy relics”, “The case of...” Lord, how many such big and tiny “cases” "has accumulated in this folder over the "damned years!" This is what my story is about.
