The book by Polish theologian and historian Julian Grzesik is originally called “Aliyah of Israel.” “Aliyah” is Hebrew for “ascent.” The author uses this word both literally and allegorically, denoting not only the return of the Jews to Israel, but also the elevation of the soul of the people, striving to find their God and reunite with him.
