“Fairy tales but not fairy tales” - that’s what the authors called their book. The action takes place in the imaginary mathematical countries of Karlikania and Al-Jebra. The heroes of the book, schoolchildren Tanya, Seva and Oleg, find themselves in funny adventures, learn the basics of algebra, learn to solve equations of the first degree. This book first came to children a quarter of a century ago. Its first readers have long since grown up. Thanks to her, many of them became real mathematicians - the world of numbers that she introduces turned out to be so fascinating for them. We hope that today’s schoolchildren will read it with the same interest. “A Journey through Karlikania and Al-Jebra” promises them all sorts of road adventures, and along the way - a lot of serious information about mathematics, presented in a fun, inventive and accessible way. In addition, a number of other mathematical journeys begin with him, which are narrated in Vladimir Levshin’s books “Nulik the Sailor”, “Master of Scattered Sciences”, as well as “Seekers of Extraordinary Autographs”, “In the Labyrinth of Numbers”, written by him in collaboration with Emilia Alexandrova. “Lost and Found Table of Lost Numbers.”
