An elderly famous writer, who lost his teenage son who drowned at sea many years ago, has been living for a long time with an enduring pain in his soul. But time passes, and the pain from the loss of his only son passes into his creativity, with which he tries to drown out his grief, and his creativity becomes piercing, deep, bright, very interesting and at the same time very popular. He plunges headlong into his affairs, into his glory, crowned and favored by those in power, he soars to the top, becomes a celebrity and everyone's favorite. But his wife’s unexpected question: could he exchange his fame, all his achievements, wealth, comfort for their son to be next to them now, makes him think about suicide.
