Fernando Aramburu's novel "Swifts" was published five years after his famous "Motherland", translated into 34 languages and brought the author world fame. To the surprise of many, this time the writer abruptly changed not only the topic, but also the writing style. The hero of "Swifts", fifty-year-old philosophy teacher Tony, seemingly for no apparent reason, decides to commit suicide. And he sets the exact date of his own death, giving himself a year to complete his affairs. Then he begins to keep a diary, where every evening he describes the events of the past day, and also reconstructs the story of his life. The purpose of the diary is to understand himself and understand why he so irrevocably wanted to stay on this earth. The diary is extremely frank, in which Tony freely expresses his deepest feelings, reveals the motives of the most unsightly actions and reflects on the nature of happiness, love, friendship and family relationships. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
