Despite the title, which evokes the image of another vacuous emotional pamphlet parasitic on the problems of the American and world economy of recent years, the book has nothing to do with lightweight sensationalism. This is a serious, in-depth and thoughtful analysis of economic, political and military history and, most importantly, human behavior, from the French Revolution to the present day. The book examines the Japanese economy - starting from the 1980s... traces the actions of Alan Greenspan - since 1987, and most interestingly - analyzes the consequences of an inevitable event in the very near future, which promises to become a turning point in modern history. - removing America from the credit needle. The authors focus on technology, mass psychology, and demographic trends. Moreover, this is not a boring scientific treatise, but a bright journalistic narrative, written with a fair amount of humor. Two articles were added to the Russian edition: Mark Skousen “Who Predicted the Great Depression” and Alan Greenspan “Gold and Economic Freedom”. A week after the publication of the English publication in October 2003, the book became a bestseller in the Wall Street Journal Best Seller list (4th place) and the New York Times (8th place) rankings and on the first day of sales reached 1st place in the BarnesNobel online store .
