One day, an alien ship appears in the black sky. Bright green rays pierce the night like fireworks. They reach from the ship to the ground and take away people going out onto the streets. One by one. People find themselves on a ship as big as the world itself. People from all cities and countries. People from all over the planet. One of the main characters has a genetic memory, thanks to which he remembers all previous lives: his father, grandfather and his other ancestors. He watches how people gradually begin to get used to the ship: they study incredible technologies, adapt, get used to it. Everyone knows that the ship is going somewhere, but the final destination remains a mystery. After many generations and civilizations, the protagonist's genetic memory shows many attempts and explorations made by different people over thousands of years in the quest to control the ship, but they all fail. No one remembers the Earth anymore, almost no one, but they still continue to live and dream that someday they will fly to the home planet of their ancestors.
