Deanna Raybourn is an American writer and author of historical detective stories. Deanna was born on June 17, 1968 in the American city of Fort Worth. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in English and History with an emphasis in the life and works of William Shakespeare. She taught English at a San Antonio high school before turning to writing. "Sex, lies and amazing clothing descriptions" is how one reader described Deanna's debut novel, Silent in the Grave, published in December 2007.  Rayborn's novels have been nominated for many awards, including five RITA awards, two RT Reviewers' Choice awards, The Agatha, two Dilys Winns, Last Laugh, and three du Mauriers awards. Based on her books about Lady Julia Gray, a TV series is being prepared for release in the UK. Deanna lives in Virginia with her husband and daughter. Contents: 1.
