Anatoly Ignatievich Pristavkin is a famous Russian writer, author of 25 books published in many countries around the world. For the story "Overnight of the Golden Cloud" he was awarded the State Prize; the story has been translated into all European languages. The story "Cuckoo" brought the author the all-German National Prize for Children's Literature in 1992. The life stories of Soviet street children, who were described with such love and understanding of the child's soul by A. Pristavkin, are read by people all over the world.
"Judgment Day", one of the author's last works, talks about the hard work of teenagers and elderly people in to the rear, at a tank factory. About how one small event leads to others and subsequently affects a person’s life. As Pristavkin himself said, this is partly his story.
