From the translator: This short story was written by a very young man and therefore, along with the novelty of experiences and vividness of impressions inherent in youth, it may suffer from some fragmentary worldview. However - and for this, as a person well acquainted with Israeli reality, I vouch for this - the story very accurately shows the thoughts and feelings of young people of different origins, united by life and brought face to face with the harsh Middle Eastern paradoxes. The story contains a lot of colloquial street Hebrew vocabulary, which the translator tried to convey using the appropriate means of modern Russian literature.
