Ayn Rand (1905–1982) is our compatriot, who became the largest American writer read by the whole world. Her books are admired, discussed, worshiped... Ayn Rand's most famous novel, Atlas Shrugged, was second only to the Bible in sales in America! The main thing in the book is the principle of free will, rationality and “the morality of reasonable egoism.” The second part of the novel is a social forecast. In a situation where the government sets a course for “equal opportunities”, considering it fair to make the worthless and untalented rich at the expense of the talented and wealthy, everyone turns out to be a loser. A ban on the development of production and lobbying for the interests of the “right” people destroy societies. The dynamics of the narrative are set by the complex interweaving of the destinies of the heroes, love conflicts and the mystery of who John Galt is.
