This book was created at the insistence of my regular readers. Every week on Thursdays in our magazine CHAIKA they are accustomed to reading my column “Culture Week with Irina Tchaikovskaya.” They insisted that I make a book out of this material. Cinema, Theater, Literature, Music, Journalism - these are the sections of the book, which included the best that was written over these six years. It is easy to read, because all the materials were written in one sitting, by inspiration. Shakespeare and Shostakovich, Kirk Douglas and Yevgeny Mironov, Dostoevsky and Eifman, Dmitry Bykov and Mstislav Rostropovich, as well as many others, became my heroes. Funny, sad, and sometimes enthusiastic pages are dedicated to all of them, so different. Here you will find a cultural portrait of our time, which I saw in the mirror of the CULTURE channel. The book will give all lovers of beauty the opportunity to remember familiar ones and discover unknown ones - films, performances, musical works.
