Yonge, Charlotte Mary (Charlotte Mary Yonge) (1823–1901). - English writer, b. in 1823, author of 160 essays. It hasn't been published for a long time. But English-speaking readers themselves happily scanned Yonge's 71 novels (See Project Gutenberg). The writer's surname was and is written in Russian "multivariately": Miss Jung, Yong, Young. She entered the literary field very young and published a large number of historical and tendentious religious novels, not devoid of warmth and sincerity. The most famous of them: “The Heir of Redclyffe”, “Heartsease”, “Dynevor Terrace”, “The Daisy Chain”, “The Young Stepmother”, “Hopes and Fears”, “The Clever Women of the Family”, “The trial", "The Prince and the Page", "The Chaplet of pearls". Y. donated part of the profits from the sale of her novels to various charities. Died in 1901
