Anacreon. Genus. OK. 570 in the city of Teos on the Asia Minor coast. OK. 545, when his homeland was captured by the Persians, he moved with a group of his compatriots to the southern coast of Thrace. He lived at the court of Polycrates in Samos and at the court of Hipparchus, son of Pisistratus, in Athens. He lived to a ripe old age.
