The monograph is devoted to a topical and completely unexplored topic. For the first time, using new, previously inaccessible to researchers, material from secret documents from the collections of party and state archives of the USSR, letters, memoirs of eyewitnesses, books and articles published on the same period on similar subjects, it reveals the causes, scale and consequences of the post-war famine of 1946-1947 gg. in Soviet Union. The most important decrees, resolutions and orders signed by I.V. Stalin, V.M. Molotov, N.M. Shvernik and others are analyzed in chronological order. Specific examples show the negative impact of war, drought, procurement and tax campaigns on the difficult financial situation residents of the country. Based on official statistics, approximate human losses from hunger and diseases caused by it have been determined.
